Responsible Gaming
The single most useful habit in gambling is deciding how it ends before it starts. This page is built around that.
Decide three numbers first
Set these while you are calm, and write them down if it helps:
- A budget. The amount you are willing to spend for the entertainment, in the same way you would budget for a night out. Not a target to win back.
- A time. When you will stop, regardless of whether you are up or down.
- A stop-point. A balance at which you close the session — both a loss floor and a win ceiling. Most people set the floor and forget the ceiling, which is why winnings so often go back in.
Know what the entertainment costs
Every game carries a house edge. On a 96% RTP slot, 500 spins an hour at RM1 costs about RM20 an hour on average. Faster play and larger stakes both scale that up.
That figure is not a warning, it is a price tag. It makes a budget concrete instead of a feeling.
Use the tools in your account
- Deposit limits — daily, weekly or monthly
- Loss limits — a cap on net losses over a period
- Session limits and reality checks — reminders or automatic logout
- Cooling-off — a short pause, hours to weeks
- Self-exclusion — a longer block that cannot be lifted early
Tightening a limit takes effect at once. Loosening one takes effect only after a delay, deliberately.
Warning signs
Any of these is worth taking seriously:
- Playing longer or spending more than planned, repeatedly
- Returning specifically to win back losses
- Keeping the amounts secret from people close to you
- Using money set aside for rent, bills, food or debt
- Borrowing to gamble
- Feeling restless or irritable when cutting down
- Playing to escape stress or low mood
- Sleep, work, study or relationships being affected
None of these depend on the amount of money involved.
If you are worried about someone else
Ask directly and without accusation, focus on the behaviour rather than the money, and do not settle their debts — it removes the consequence that prompts change. Point them at support and let them make the call.
Getting help
Help is free and confidential. Talk to someone you trust, contact a local support or counselling service in Malaysia, and ask our support team to set limits, exclude you, or close the account. Requests to be excluded are actioned, not argued with.
You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
18+ only. Please play responsibly.
